Abstract

This study examines the key factors which impact on work-life balance. However, it looks at these factors in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic examining these factors both during and after the pandemic. The key factors examined were work-family enrichment, gender, flexibility policies, technology, and supervisor support. Work-life balance issues has been around for decades and key theoretical ideas surrounding work-life balance have been developed in the last century. These were examined in depth in this study. This study adopted a quantitative research method in the form of an online questionnaire. 138 business professionals were recruited to take part in the research. The questionnaire used measures of work-life balance and its key factors from previous research. The questionnaire data was analysed using statistical analysis and was compared with previous research and theories. The data analysis found work-family enrichment, supervisor support and flexibility policies had a significant positive relationship with work-life balance during and after the pandemic. This tended to agree with pervious research. However, the research found no relationship between gender and technology with work-life balance during and after the pandemic.
