Abstract

This research aims to explore the impact of job design on employee motivation within Pakistan. The study examines the current job designs within Pakistan before outlining its impact on employee motivation. The primary objective is to understand how employee motivation is impacted within Pakistan as a result of an array of job design characteristics. 9 working professionals from Pakistan were interviewed for the purpose of this research and the findings were then analysed using the Interpretivist approach. Coding of the interviews was done using Content Analysis technique which led to the emergence of several repeated ideas and themes that were then discussed accordingly. Lastly, preferences of Pakistani employees with respect to job designs are explored and subsequent recommendations to employers are made.
