Abstract

Having effective human resources management strategies and practically applying it in an organization has a great impact on how competitive they will be in the business environment. The study titled “Effectiveness of Human Resources Management Strategies in the Organization; A case study on United Bank For Africa PLC”, was conducted to determine the success of the human resources management strategies of the UBA PLC and to also find out the relationship between these strategies and the overall effectiveness of HRM in the Bank. Five (5) hypotheses were formulated for the study. The population of the study was fifty (50) employees of the bank but only thirty seven (37) of the employees was assessed which formed part of the limitation of study. There was a random selection of the respondents which were of different gender as sample. Data was collected with the aid of questionnaires and the SPSS software was used for data analysis. Findings on the effectiveness of the human resources management strategies used by UBA PLC were made, the relationship of this strategies were also determined. Hence, recommendation were however made for United Bank for Africa PLC to apply the Strategic Human Resources management that will align the human resources management strategies and the business and corporate strategies of the Bank for improved productivity, increase in profit, low employee turnover, employee retention, motivation and job satisfaction among employees.
