Abstract

The most important rule for financial management in small companies, although it is general rule for all sizes of company, is not to run out of cash. Being a financial manager for a small company, it is more serious to manage company's budget because the smaller enterprise faces greater challenge in raising cash.

The following subjects are areas to be covered in addressing the issue of budgeting in a small business:

-the current academic views and literature reviews on the subject of small business budgeting

-the current budgeting approach being used at Jupiter and the feedback from employees who are involved in budgeting

-the recommendations of a budgeting approach for Jupiter; the benefits on cash management by adopting an efficient budgeting approach

-the distinction between routine budgeting, initial project budgeting and ongoing project budgeting, using a case of Jupiter and the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) project

-a framework of successful budgeting which can be adopted by small businesses for managing cash efficiently and business growth
