The impact of ultraviolet wavelengths on broiler chicken performance, health and welfareTools James, Charlotte (2021) The impact of ultraviolet wavelengths on broiler chicken performance, health and welfare. PhD thesis, University of Nottingham.
AbstractQualities of the light environment affect the performance, health and welfare of broiler chickens. UVA light is visible to chickens and may facilitate improvements in welfare. UVB wavelengths promote endogenous vitamin D synthesis, which could support the rapid development of broilers. The aim of the study was to investigate the impacts of Ultraviolet wavelengths (UV) on performance health and welfare indicators.
