Abstract

The prime notion of this project is to evaluate the implementation of Total Quality Management and its impact on organisational performance. The research is focused on the Food and Beverage Industry of Cameroon. In order to achieve the research goals and objective, primary and secondary data collection methods are used. The use of questionnaires and conducting interviews are essential as they assist in providing credible and valid data. Regression analysis is also used as it helped with the presentation and data analysis.

The major findings of the project included; a successful implementation of total quality management will increase the performance level of companies and elements of total quality management such as continuous training and education, creation of problem solving teams, the use of quality control tools and techniques and continuous improvement are significant factors for implementation of TQM and organisational performance. Lastly, the research is also able to show that there is a positive relationship between TQM, ISO Standards and organisational performance.

Specific recommendations are made which included; senior management commitment towards quality, organisations should be able to select their suppliers based on quality, organisations should reduce every form of waste so as to increase profits, firms should organise training programmes for employees on a regular basis and firms should have a knowledge of quality control tools and techniques to foster continuous improvement.
