Abstract

This dissertation attempts to look at the practice of internationalization in Malaysia’s higher education industry. In today’s world, there is some form of revolution in the higher education industry, not only people are moving around, but academic programs and providers are also moving across borders.Therefore, this paper will strive to investigate on whether internationalization has actuallybeing take place in the Malaysia’s higher education industry and most importantly, focused on the cause and effect of internationalization. Therefore, the importance, the characteristic, the facilitating factors and obstacles, as well as the benefits and risks of internationalization in higher education, especially in the context of Malaysia will be focused and concentrated in this research.The researcher will gathered all the necessary data by using random sampling procedure.Interviews had been successfully conducted with five higher education institutions inMalaysia. In addition, questionnaires had been distributed to any higher education institutions throughout East and West Malaysia in order to support the research results. Later, the data collected through interview will be analyzed with a descriptive discussion, while data from questionnaire will be examined through statistical package. The dissertation will conclude with summarizing the entire research. Besides, discussion on the findings and contribution of the research will also be carried out.
