Abstract

Femco Filters Pvt. Ltd. (FFPL), engaged in the manufacture of hydraulic filters for industrial applications, has seen rapid growth in its domestic market over the last five years and has a vision of replicating its success in international markets as well. In an environment powered by rapid economic development in the BRIC countries (Brazil, Russia, India and China) FFPL is facing stiff competition in its domestic markets by Chinese substitutes. This research has been commissioned by FFPL in order to examine the best possible modes of entry into international markets incorporating the companies current and future vision for growth.

This research critically examines the firm’s process of internationalization, its preparedness to internationalize and ascertains the current position in terms of understanding the management’s commitment to take its products to faraway markets. The research provides insight into selling FFPL’s products to identified potential markets on a regional scale i.e. EU, USA, Middle East / Africa and Asia – Pacific regions. Further discusses the factors affecting in the selection of foreign market entry decisions and contrasts it with FFPL in order to identify to most potential mode of foreign market entry. The research stretches in providing both short term and long term success and future growth with respect to FFPL.
