Abstract

This dissertation has been written with a view to identifying & addressing current issues related to Rolls Royce's manufacturing supply chain and proposing recommendations for the configuration of projected supply chain for Rolls Royce (RR) to succeed in the competition of 150 seat market.

First, be presented an account of the framework of current supply chain of RR. Then, based on finding gathered through interview, questionnaire, intranet research, market intelligence study, competitors analysis, four major areas with crucial issues have been identified and examined for the purpose of streamlining current supply chain, namely, currency, raw material, lead time, suppliers. In each

area, the analysis of current issues and recommendations to address them have been presented.

After gaining the real picture of RR's current supply chain, some understanding of its competitors', and taking into account of the intrinsic requirements of 150 competition, I made recommendations for the configuration of future supply chain, mainly focusing on capacity, efficiency, flexibility.

Finally, a list of suggestions such as dual sourcing and so on have been made to conclude this dissertation.
