Abstract

Abstract

Mass customization (MC) has been paid more attention by the market in recent year. However, not all the industries can mass customization very well. This dissertation presents an overview of MC and show the concept through case study of Jiangxi Boyun Company (JBC).

The main aim of dissertation is to examine the current situation of Jiangxi Boyun Company (JBC), which is a small and medium size waterproof company, to analysis the benefits that can be brought by MC strategy to extend their market. Furthermore, from the analysis of MC and the taxonomy of its operational degree to select the best mode for its own MC program operation. In addition, according to the findings to provide a integrate system to response MC of JBC.

The classification, process capacity, information communication technology, distribution channel of MC should be considered in JBC strategy. Besides, to select a systematic way handle MC to satisfied customer is necessary. Also, e-business/e-commerce must be considered as it plays an indispensable role in MC program.

This paper will introduce the literature of MC, which about how to classified product, analysis MC level and model, and the factors to implement MC program. Furthermore, case study of JBC to pursue MC strategy.
