Abstract

Nowadays lean is acknowledged as rapidly growing concept, used by companies worldwide in order to eliminate all kinds of wastes, from excess movement to overproduction, and maximize profit, through sustainable business improvement.

In developed countries most of the companies apply lean technique, while in the developing and less developing countries enterprises are still at the beginning of that process. Lean practitioners and experts believe that lean, as a strong, is jet to be discovered by many companies as well as countries.

The main objective of this dissertation is to analyze current situation and status of lean in Serbian industry, evaluate companies and they knowledge about lean, estimate their progress, present overall, analyze and imply potential suggestion for changes considering specific country factors which differentiate from the rest of the world.



The overall current economic situation is important factor of attracting multinational companies who are looking for privatizations which are practically precondition for the most Serbian enterprises to enter the way of lean introduction. Therefore, and overview concerning that and attractiveness of Serbia for future successful business performance would be in the focus in second part of this work.

Conclusion will be the clear image of current situation with suggestions of next steps which should be taken in achieving global business excellence and outstanding business performance.
