Abstract

In the paper, the researcher will talk about the India, both in the pre liberalization and post liberalization era. The researcher will be focusing on the Indian automobile industry which has undergone many changes since its liberalization in 1993. Porter's five force model has been used to show the difference in the automobile industry pre and post reforms. The researcher then defines liberalization, its causes, and provides an analysis of the impact of FDI on the wages, employment, and productivity and output of Indian firms and specifically the automobile sector. This analysis will help us understand the changes in the Indian industries since 1991. In the prior section literature has been provided to support the analysis. The researcher has used quantitative methods to show the impact of liberalization (FDI) on India.
