There is a certain fascination with analyzing leaders be it in any field but the main concern is how can we learn more about their characteristics, personality and most importantly their leadership styles. There is vast amount of theories which have been designed on leadership One way of examining it is by analyzing what they say that is in the interviews, speeches etc. These interview are available through a variety of sources like newspapers, business magazines etc. Business press plays an important role in the creation of images of leaders in the minds of the readers over time. The other way to learn about leaders is through leadership theories. There is a wide and ever growing variety of leadership theories available to explain the concept and practice of leadership. Basically the main aim of this dissertation is to find out the difference between the leadership styles that are constructed in the business media taking business magazine articles as the main source of data and how they have been presented through diverse range of theories. The study concludes with the notion that significant difference can be seen between theoretical models of leadership and construction of leadership by the business media hence a deep understanding of this concept is very much required.
