Design and synthesis of protein arginine methyltransferase inhibitorsTools Hong, Wei (2010) Design and synthesis of protein arginine methyltransferase inhibitors. PhD thesis, University of Nottingham.
AbstractBiological methylation is defined as the transfer of a methyl group from S-adenosyl-L-methionine(SAM) to one of a wide range of potential acceptors such as DNA, RNA, protein, hormones and neurotransmitters. Protein arginine methylation is a common post-translational modification facilitated by protein arginine methyltransferases(e.g. PRMTI). The roles of these enzymes in vivo are currently poorly understood.
